Whenever we get a design visit enquiry from Holland Park, our designers are all interested to attend. Holland Park is situated in one of London’s most prestigious areas with owners being from different parts of the world, the requirements are often as diverse as they are from. This Holland Park living room project however began as a relatively straightforward enquiry. The client required a contemporary media unit that would integrate seamlessly with the home’s architecture, stylish, yet practical cabinetry that elevates the space while serving everyday needs.

The Brief

The client’s needs were simple:

• • Create a focal wall with clean, symmetrical lines
  • Integrate ample storage without disrupting the minimalist aesthetic
  • Enhance the homely feel with natural tones and textures
  • Ensure the design complements the existing fireplace and ceiling detailing
  • Create a centre display for the art, which can be used for the Media Unit

Our Design Solution

Lead designer at Innovative Designs developed a bespoke furniture concept focused on form, function, and flow. Using a muted colour palette with subtle contrast, the custom installation bridges the practical and the beautiful offering concealed storage, symmetrical display windows, and architectural balance. The centre place was given for the artwork, which can be turned into a Media Unit as well.

Design Highlights

• • Bespoke Wall Cabinetry & Display Shelves:
    Built in light oak tones with a warm matte finish, the cabinetry combines the space visually and practically. Built-in shelving units with integrated LED downlights frame a central place, drawing attention to the artwork and creating a gallery like effect. The contrasting dark back panels add depth and sophistication to the light wood tones.
  • Concealed Base Storage:
    The lower cabinetry provides generous hidden storage ideal for media equipment, books, and day-to-day living items allowing the room to remain clutter-free and effortlessly chic.
  • Integrated Lighting Design:
    Discreet, recessed spotlights in each shelving bay highlight decorative objects and create subtle effect in the evenings. This layered lighting effect works beautifully with the adjacent fireplace, enhancing the room’s sense of comfort and serenity.
  • Balanced Composition with Fireplace Integration:
    The cabinetry is perfectly scaled to sit alongside the sleek stone fireplace wall, forming a unified visual flow across the living space. This subtle alignment reinforces the architecture without overwhelming it.
