This modern apartment in the heart of Whitechapel presented the perfect opportunity to create a sophisticated, statement-making dining and living space with a seamless flow. The client, a young professional couple, sought a high-end, polished look that would complement the architecture of the building while bringing warmth and luxury into their everyday environment.
The clients wanted to make use of their open plan dining and lounge with bespoke furniture. They wanted to make it different, one which gives a stunning look, while entertaining guests and quiet evenings. Their main requests were:
Considering the interiors and the furniture in the dining and the living room, we recommended a bespoke furniture design blending with the dining table, which is paired with the soft-toned, velvet and leather mix chairs and the lounge suite. The design offered both style and comfort, while ensuring the space is utilised fully. A custom-built illuminated shelving unit and an integrated media wall was given to elevate the space.
A full height, illuminated wall unit was crafted in rich woodgrain with open shelves and mirrored back panels. This not only offers elegant storage for glassware and bottles but also acts as a subtle focal point in the dining space.
The media wall features clean lines and concealed storage, designed to anchor the lounge visually while keeping all the wires and equipment and everyday clutter neatly tucked away.
Symmetry and balance were achieved through flanking shelving units that extend from the dining area into the living space, tying both zones together through a continuous design language.
Statement ceiling pendants above both dining and living zones add sculptural beauty and ambient lighting. Discreet downlights enhance the clean ceiling lines, while integrated LED strips within cabinetry add depth and drama.
